About the Role
Weβre looking for a Vice President, Biologics Research to provide scientific, strategic, and organizational leadership for biologics discovery, engineering, and early-stage development.
What Youβll Do
- Define and drive the long-term scientific strategy for biologics research aligned with corporate/portfolio objectives.
- Provide thought leadership for therapeutic targets, protein engineering, biologics modality selection, and biotherapeutic discovery/design/development.
- Ensure scientific rigor, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Support expansion of laboratory automation and adoption of agentic AI-enabled workflows.
- Ensure seamless integration of computational biology, data science, and experimental efforts.
- Oversee teams through milestones: screening cascades, molecular design, candidate selection, preclinical development, IND-enabling studies.
- Support first-in-human readiness and input into clinical study design.
- Partner with Technical Operations, Clinical, Toxicology, DMPK, Translational Bioanalytics, and Regulatory for IND submissions and early clinical development.
- Provide scientific leadership on human immune responses (CD8+, CD4+, B cell) impact on safety, efficacy, and durability.
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing, collaborative research organization; build director/senior director leadership.
- Foster accountability, innovation, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) and 15+ years of biopharma/biotech R&D with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Expertise in protein engineering and adaptive immunology; familiarity with modern protein design tech (computational design, AI/ML).
- Biotherapeutic development experience: in vivo pharmacology, PK/PD strategy, preclinical CMC, toxicology/safety assessment, and first-in-human translation.
- Excellent executive-level communication and ability to translate complex science into decisions.
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and high-impact program delivery.
Where Youβll Work / Travel
- Onsite in New Hampshire with some remote flexibility; occasional travel (~5%β15%).
