What You’ll Do
- Define and drive the long-term scientific strategy for biologics research, aligned with corporate and portfolio objectives.
- Provide thought leadership for therapeutic targets, protein engineering, biologics modality selection, and biotherapeutic discovery, design, and development.
- Ensure scientific rigor, innovation, and data-driven decision-making across all biologics programs.
- Support expansion of laboratory automation and adoption of agentic AI-enabled workflows and decision-making.
- Ensure seamless integration of computational biology, data science, and experimental efforts.
- Oversee and support teams through key milestones including establishing screening cascades, molecular design, candidate selection, preclinical development, and IND-enabling studies.
- Support first-in-human readiness and provide input into clinical study design considerations.
- Partner with Technical Operations, Clinical, Toxicology, DMPK, Translational Bioanalytics, and Regulatory teams to support IND submissions and early clinical development.
- Provide scientific leadership on human immune responses (CD8+, CD4+, and B cell responses) to protein antigens and the impact on safety, efficacy, and durability.
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing, collaborative biologics research organization; build leadership at director and senior director levels.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Serve as a key member of the R&D leadership team and scientific advisor to senior executives.
- Represent biologics research with cross-functional stakeholders and externally with collaborators, partners, and other 3rd parties.

Who You Are (Required)
- PhD or equivalent degree.
- 15+ years of experience in biopharma or biotech R&D with progressive leadership responsibility.

Skills/Experience (Required/Preferred)
- Strategic thinker with strong scientific judgment; ability to balance innovation with execution.
- Effective leader of multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in protein engineering and knowledge of adaptive immunology.
- Familiarity with modern protein design technologies (e.g., computational design, AI/ML-enabled approaches).
- Experience in biotherapeutic drug development, including in vivo pharmacology, PK/PD strategy, preclinical CMC, toxicology/safety assessment support, and first-in-human translation.
- Excellent communication skills; able to influence executive-level decisions and translate complex science.
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and delivery of high-impact programs.

Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel (approximately 5%–15%).

Where You’ll Work
- Onsite position based out of New Hampshire office; flexibility for some remote work.
