Role: Rhesus Nonhuman Primate Colony Technician supporting animal health, welfare, and husbandry at a research facility. Responsibilities: manage clinical cases in coordination with veterinary staff, oversee nursery activities including infant care, training, and equipment maintenance; monitor animal socialization, behavior, and welfare; perform physical exams, non-invasive surgeries, administer therapeutics, and collect diagnostic samples; provide mentorship and training to staff; participate in audits and support other departments as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Life Sciences or Veterinary Technology; minimum six months laboratory or veterinary experience; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; AALAS certification desirable. Required Skills: knowledge of animal physiology, husbandry, behavior, and diseases; effective communication, multi-tasking, and documentation skills; ability to handle animals with positive reinforcement; capable of working overtime and weekends, with mandatory immunizations.
