Vertex Spring Co-Op 2027, Process Development

Role: Vertex Process Development Co-Op focused on cell and gene therapy drug product development, specifically cryopreservation processes for Type 1 Diabetes treatment. Responsibilities: establish cryo-microscopy workflows, design cryopreservation studies, develop computational models to evaluate CPA diffusion and islet responses, and integrate experimental data to optimize cryoprotectant formulations. Qualifications: pursuing a graduate degree (PhD/Master's preferred) in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields; experience with mammalian cell culture, cryopreservation, cell microscopy, and basic computational modeling; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
