Role Summary
The Vertex Spring 2026 CGT Analytical Development Co-op is a 6-month experiential training program for Ph.D. students in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields. The co-op provides hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical sciences, focusing on method development for single-cell proteomics to characterize cell therapy products, with emphasis on LC-MS techniques and multi-omics characterization support.
Responsibilities
- Support method development for single-cell proteomics to characterize cell therapy products.
- Optimize CellenONE methods to sort cells and prepare them for proteomics analysis.
- Utilize TMT and label-free approaches to acquire proteomics data.
- Develop data analysis methods in collaboration with team members.
- Contribute to projects within CGT AD related to cell and gene therapy process characterization and other needs, primarily using LC-MS.
Qualifications
- Required: Enrolled in a Doctorate program in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field; 3rd year students and above preferred.
- Required: Experience with LC-MS systems, ideally nanoLC and Thermo instruments.
- Preferred: Programming experience, particularly in R.
- Required: Legal authorization to work in the United States now and in the future.
- Required: Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2026.
- Required: Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January – June 2026.
