Role Summary
Vertex's Spring 2026 Co-op, Integrated Pharmacology β multi-week experiential internship for students pursuing an advanced degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., pharmacology, biological sciences). The program provides meaningful experience in statistical functional areas and serves as a launchpad for your career.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning experiments and conduct experiments with limited supervision, demonstrating responsible follow-up
- Conduct experiments independently following established methodology and procedures
- Perform initial analysis of experimental data and interpret immediate outcomes with established protocols
- Maintain accurate lab records and summarize results for presentations
- Present at internal group research meetings as needed
- Follow procedures from the literature, adapting as necessary with supervisorβs guidance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant scientific field (e.g., pharmacology, biological sciences)
- In vivo mouse techniques (PO, IP, perfusion, blood and tissue collection)
- Ex vivo techniques: protein (western blotting, ELISA), flow cytometry, or molecular (qPCR)
- Quick learner with ability and willingness to learn new concepts and techniques
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Self-motivated and results oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States now and in the future (no sponsorship for internships in this part of the organization)
- Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2026
- Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January to June 2026
