Role Summary
Vertex Fellow Boston — Vertex Fellows Program is a one-year training program for scientists and physicians to gain hands-on R&D experience, mentorship, and exposure to the science and business of drug discovery. The fellowship embeds participants within Vertex project teams to work on relevant projects and explore potential industry careers.
Responsibilities
- Embed for one year within a Vertex project team and work on projects aligned with skills and pipeline needs
- Engage in intensive didactic training on the science and business of drug development
- Receive scientific and career mentorship from Vertex leaders
- Explore career fit in industry and develop a plan for future career steps
Qualifications
- Required: PhD, MD, or joint degree attained within 0-5 years
- Required: Demonstrated scientific impact (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, presentations, awards)
- Required: Evidence of creative thinking, scientific problem solving, and innovation
- Required: Interest in learning how scientific research leads to the development of therapies

Education
- PhD, MD, or joint degree (within 0-5 years of attaining)
Additional Requirements
