What You Will Be Doing
- Support, and in some cases lead, communications projects across disease areas in Vertex’s research pipeline.
- Write and produce pipeline-related content for the employee intranet (articles, patient/employee stories, multimedia).
- Support disease affinity recognition with internal/external educational content.
- Help create and execute communications plans for pipeline announcements and content campaigns (e.g., video series).
- Support pipeline social media channels with copy for disease recognition and related conferences.
- Compile campaign metrics to inform strategy and planning; support ongoing/ad hoc initiatives.
What You Will Need To Succeed
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (scientific field, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related); graduates may qualify if enrolled in an advanced degree.
- Outstanding verbal/written communication and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Understanding of the scientific method/scientific concepts.
- Prior internship experience (medical/pharma/biotech or communications).
- Self-starter who can deliver results with limited guidance and on tight deadlines.
- Motivated, energetic, strong work ethic/tenacity.
- Full-time onsite capacity in Boston, MA.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).
- If graduating before Dec 2026, must be in an advanced degree program.
- Available full-time (40 hours/week) July–December 2026.
