Role Summary
The Vertex Fall Co-op 2026 in Biometrics and Real-World Analytics provides hands-on experience analyzing biometric data and real-world evidence (RWE). You will bridge technical teams and business stakeholders, translating data-driven insights into actionable strategies. You will work on real projects in a collaborative environment designed for growth.
Responsibilities
- Autogenerate Tables, Figures, and Listings (TFLs) for biometric data analysis using AI tools.
- Real World Analytics: Validate Data Analysis Plan (DAP) and create SAS codes from the Statistical Programming Plan (SPP).
- Process Optimization: identify pain points in workflows across multiple vendor contractors and propose improvements.
- Business Requirements Elicitation and Documentation: gather and document BRDs, translate business needs into technical specifications, and conduct stakeholder interviews/workshops.
- Deliverables: BRDs and process flow diagrams; meeting notes and summaries.
- Timeline: initial requirements gathering during the first month, with ongoing updates as projects progress.
- Interactions: regular meetings with product managers, business leaders, and technical teams.
- Project Support and Coordination: assist in managing timelines, deliverables, and milestones; track progress and address risks.
- Deliverables: project plans, status reports, risk assessments, and documentation of milestones.
- Timeline: ongoing with deadlines tied to project phases.
- Interactions: collaborate with project managers, team leads, and external vendors as applicable.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: identify inefficiencies and propose improvements; support the implementation of new tools, systems, or methodologies.
- Deliverables: process improvement proposals and implementation plans, and training materials for team members.
- Timeline: mid to late internship, depending on project scope and complexity.
- Interactions: work with process owners, IT teams, and end-users to implement and refine solutions.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; Vertex does not sponsor internships in this division.
- You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before December 2026.
- You must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) from July to December 2026.
