Role Summary

The Value Architecture & Engineering Lead shapes how value is realized across SAP S/4HANA transformations in Innovative Medicine, translating value chain strategy into time-enabled business capabilities. You will drive discovery activities for the Transcend deployment and support the IMFT Strategy & Value team. This role is available across multiple countries with postings in the US, Switzerland, and Ireland; primary location options include Titusville, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Value-driven approach: Working with the Finance Value Capture lead and organization, translate the value chain-based strategy into value-add, TIME-based business capabilities that further our return on investment. Play a key role during the Discovery phases of the deployment roadmap.
  • Value Realization Framework: Support the Finance Value Capture lead in the effective implementation and ongoing improvement of the value realization framework, embedding value realization into strategy design & execution, and shaping value realization across the value chain.
  • Value Realization Metrics & KPI’s: Define and track KPIs for efficiency, value realization, and strategic alignment; include opportunity loss analysis and contribute to funding/budgeting decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between transformation teams, Finance, and senior leadership; facilitate workshops to align stakeholders on value engineering goals.
  • End-2-End Transformation Mindset: Promote end-to-end thinking, break down silos, and ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic planning: Partner with Technology Capability and business leaders to inform and develop strategic capabilities and deployment roadmaps, prioritizing projects based on business value and impact; participate in demand intake governance.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear communication between business users, Finance, IT and TIME program teams to ensure SAP solutions align with strategic goals.
  • Technical competency: Stay current with SAP S/4HANA advancements and industry trends to drive ongoing opportunities for innovation and value; support adoption of novel approaches and technologies.
  • Risk management: Proactively identify and address potential risks in achieving value outcomes.
  • Interdependent Programs: Represent the Strategy team in interdependency governance forums to ensure focus on priorities and S/4HANA-enabled value across the digital ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA experience: Deep knowledge and extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, including full-lifecycle experience. At least 5 (ideally 10+) years of experience related to SAP Value Engineering since the introduction of SAP S/4HANA and the advent of RISE / GROW with SAP (incl. embedded AI with SAP).
  • Value Planning Tools: Experience with SAP Value Lifecycle Manager (VLM) and SAP Digital Discovery Assessment (DDA); SAP Signavio's Process Insights, Process Intelligence and Value Accelerators; and SAP's lifecycle and value realization tools. Experience with non-SAP tools for process mining and modelling is also valuable.
  • Business acumen: Strong life sciences business and financial acumen, with an ability to translate S/4HANA-enabled capabilities and adjacent ecosystem solutions into tangible value outcomes.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Project management: Experience with project management methodologies and managing project workflow, budgets, and resources.
  • Stakeholder management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with business leaders and technical teams.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong collaboration and stakeholder management, including the ability to influence and challenge.
  • Change leadership: Passion for driving change and the ability to inspire adoption of new processes and technology.
