Director, Medical Science Liaison (Vaccines MSL Field Director, West)

Responsibilities:
- Lead overall MSL team performance; coach and develop capabilities.
- Drive MSL performance metrics; set clear expectations and foster continuous improvement.
- Develop strategy/processes/capabilities to optimize scientific engagement with external experts.
- Share consolidated medical insights across the business; represent medical voice of external experts and the patient.
- Integrate MSLs within Medical Affairs and collaborate with cross-functional partners to align MSL activities to strategic plans.
- Partner with Sales leadership to align ways of working between Sales and MSL teams.
- Prioritize work/resources (e.g., operational budget, staffing) to meet Medical plans.
- Recruit and onboard MSL talent.
- Ensure compliance with GSK standards/policies and local codes/laws via sound medical judgment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Accredited doctorate degree in a life-science/basic-science discipline (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D., M.D./D.O.).
- 6+ years’ experience in an MSL organization.
- 1+ year experience leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in Vaccines/Infectious Disease; pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Coaching/people management; strong communication.
- Matrix leadership; cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical governance.
- Operational management (resource/budget/project evaluation), negotiation/influencing.
- Understanding of clinical development; analytical/problem-solving.

Compensation/Benefits (US): Annual base salary $201,000–$335,000 (or $221,100–$368,500 for specified locations), plus annual bonus and share-based long-term incentive eligibility; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
