Director, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Vaccines MSL Field Director, West (Texas/California/Colorado; other Western US locations considered)

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead overall MSL team performance; coach and develop MSL capabilities.
- Drive MSL performance metrics with clear vision/expectations and continuous improvement.
- Develop strategy, processes, and capabilities to optimize scientific engagement with external experts.
- Share consolidated medical insights across the business; represent the medical voice of external experts and patients.
- Integrate MSLs into Medical Affairs and collaborate with cross-functional partners to align MSL activities to strategic plans.
- Align ways of working with Sales leadership.
- Prioritize MSL resources (operational budget, staffing) to meet Medical plans.
- Recruit and onboard new MSL team members.
- Ensure compliance with GSK standards/policies and local codes/laws using sound medical judgment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Accredited doctorate (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D., or M.D./D.O.) in life/basic sciences.
- 6+ years’ MSL experience.
- 1+ year experience leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years in Vaccines or Infectious Disease.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience; strong coaching/people leadership; effective communication.
- Matrix leadership; negotiation/influencing; governance knowledge.
- Operational management (resource/budget/project evaluation); clinical development/statistics; analytical/problem-solving.

Compensation (explicitly stated):
- Cambridge/Waltham/Rockville/San Francisco: $221,100–$368,500; other US locations: $201,000–$335,000 (base salary).
