Role Summary

Vaccine Retail Account Director is a field-based role that leads relationships with strategic national, regional, and independent retail pharmacies, Pharmacy Buying Groups, and state pharmacy associations to grow GSK's vaccines business. The role requires nationwide travel (up to 60%) and living near a major airport. You will own account plans, drive immunization growth within targeted accounts, and coordinate with clinical, legal, field sales, marketing, and market access teams to deliver performance against contracted targets.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Strategic National, Regional, and Independent Retail Pharmacies to drive account engagement and performance aligned to GSK’s overall Vaccines Annual Performance goals.
  • Lead the overall business relationships with key decision-makers between GSK and strategic accounts, including defining contract terms related to pricing, volume, marketing partnerships, and inventory return policies; ensure vaccine stocking targets are reached and conduct business reviews with stakeholders to support short- and long-term partnerships.
  • Deliver competitive profitable immunization growth of GSK’s vaccines with Retail Channel Strategic Accounts.
  • Accountable for customer-specific Retail performance narrative and diagnosis, including customer insights, key retailer performance metrics, and measures for profitable volume growth and achievement of strategic account objectives.
  • Lead relationships with National and State Pharmacy Organizations to improve vaccination rates, access to immunizations, and public health.
  • Own GSK’s relationships to ensure strong business plans and execution aligned to metrics and contract terms; serve as the single point of contact between assigned strategic accounts and GSK resources (Clinical, Legal, Field Sales, Marketing, Market Access) and be the expert on the customer base, business model, and strategic outlook.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain retail customer-level strategic account plans, including SWOT and market landscape analyses and retail marketing programs to enable accurate opportunities and maximize profitable growth; mutually agree on action steps and accountability.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate key changes and marketplace trends in the channel landscape (e.g., strategic alliances, customer organizational changes, competitive contracting) affecting GSK patients (contracts, marketing programs, product availability, and vaccine policy).

Qualifications

  • Required: BS/BA
  • Required: Minimum 5 years of vaccines or Market Access account management experience.
  • Required: Demonstrated account management experience including collaborating with cross-functional teams (internal and external matrix partners and stakeholders).
  • Required: Ability to build strategic account results-oriented plans including the ability to define, track, analyze key performance measures and make appropriate data-driven decisions to achieve account performance.
  • Required: Nationwide travel up to 60%. Must live near a major airport.
  • Preferred: Experience negotiating, implementing, and managing contracts with Group Purchasing Organizations, Retail Buying Groups
  • Preferred: Relevant commercial experience (7+ years in healthcare, vaccines, US Market Access)
  • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of how the retail pharmacy industry manages and implements vaccine programs.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to understand strategy and apply across teams, materials, and customers.
  • Preferred: Experience influencing without direct authority across cross-functional teams, working effectively in complex situations.
  • Preferred: Experience successfully leading teams directly by demonstrating emotional intelligence, the ability to influence and deliver results through others.
  • Preferred: Experience influencing customer C-Suite executives and senior leaders to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Preferred: Listens and incorporates different perspectives across medical, clinical, commercial, customer and other functions.
  • Preferred: Ability to manage financial budgets and build performance dashboards to help manage business performance.
