Utilities Senior Operator (Lilly Medicine Foundry)
Responsibilities:
- Independently operate, monitor, and maintain assigned utility systems (e.g., high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled/heated water, chilled/heated glycol, domestic water, cooling towers, tepid water, waste streams, VOC management, nitrogen systems, aqueous waste neutralization, tank farm management).
- Maintain housekeeping standards; address cleanliness issues proactively.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment/process issues; communicate findings/actions and resolve problems.
- Support training/development of Operators; demonstrate correct procedures and reinforce safe work practices.
- Recommend continuous improvement ideas; identify safety concerns and elevate for follow-up.
- Follow SOPs, GMP requirements, and site EH&S protocols; maintain accurate logs/documentation (Good Documentation Practices).
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years in utilities/industrial/mechanical operations (GMP pharmaceutical environment preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driverβs license.
- Willing to respond to call-in and scheduled overtime.
- Lift up to 40 lbs; tolerate outdoor temperature variations.
- Wear respiratory equipment; work at elevated heights as needed.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time (no visa sponsorship).
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Ability to operate utility systems equipment with minimal direction.
- Troubleshooting experience; data entry/log keeping with GMP/regulatory documentation.
- Experience training others; familiarity with work order systems/CMMS/maintenance tools.
- Strong safety, housekeeping, continuous improvement.
Shift/Location:
- Lebanon, IN (Lilly Medicine Foundry); minimal travel (<10%).
- 12-hour fixed shift, 3-2-2-3 (days 6:00 AMβ6:30 PM or nights 6:00 PMβ6:30 AM).
