Role Summary

USBU Ethics & Compliance Business Partner, Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT) at the director level. You will foster ethical behaviors and Takeda Values to mitigate risk, partnering with PDT BU and related functions to embed ethics and compliance in daily work across the USBU.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to changing environment and business needs; promote ethical behavior aligned with Takeda's Values.
  • Model Takeda's Values and ethics, influencing clients, partners, and team members.
  • Enable ethical decision-making aligned with Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business priorities.
  • Collaborate across E&C teams and with stakeholders in BUs/Functions to embed ethics and compliance in daily work.
  • Lead the E&C strategy for the USBU PDT BU, influencing senior management to adhere to principles and adopt best practices.
  • Maintain and strengthen cross-functional relationships to enable proactive risk identification.
  • Align with senior management and cross-functional partners to implement E&C controls to manage risks.
  • Simplify and automate tasks via technology and digital tools; model digital dexterity.
  • Develop programs to empower management and field personnel to integrate E&C principles into day-to-day activities and leadership.
  • Provide E&C guidance on organizational design, brand planning, needs assessments, and incentive structures.
  • Anticipate impact of guidance on other areas and proactively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate leadership within USBU E&C; mentor and educate team members on relevant topics.
  • Provide leadership to senior management on interpretation of Code of Conduct, Policies, SOPs, and program requirements.
  • Deliver high-impact presentations to promote awareness of E&C principles and Takeda’s Values.
  • Collaborate with E&C Operations and Digital E&C on initiatives; assist in developing materials for RECC meetings and present as required.
  • Periodically review policies/procedures to align with Legal feedback and E&C input.
  • Identify external trends and drive into the organization as needed.
  • Review USBU E&C Policies to ensure compliance with Values, OIG guidance, PhRMA Code, and applicable laws.
  • Engage externally with evolving E&C trends (PhRMA, OIG, DOJ) and negotiate solutions aligned with leadership needs.
  • Monitor USBU business activities (field rides, speaker programs, advisory boards) with third-party vendors; respond to hotline questions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years in Ethics & Compliance; preferably 5+ years in pharmaceutical/healthcare.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal healthcare laws/regulations; experience with OIG, PhRMA, anti-bribery, and price reporting statutes.
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and lead the E&C agenda for the BU.
  • Excellent ability to transform ideas into clear communications and materials; strong delivery of results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; cross-functional collaboration and leadership for change.
  • Executive presence and strong customer service skills; ability to interact with all management levels.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and regulatory information; willingness to travel occasionally.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or relevant advanced degree preferred.
