Role Summary

USBU Ethics & Compliance Business Partner, Patient Access & Market Access (PAMA) at the director level. Supports ethical behaviors and Takeda Values to mitigate risk and embeds ethics and compliance across the USBU PAMA organization and related functions.

Responsibilities

  • Responds rapidly to changing environment and business needs, is close to the market, and encourages ethical behavior in line with Takeda's Values.
  • Acts as a role model for Takeda's Values, ethics and values-based decision making, fostering this mindset in clients, partners and team members.
  • Enables ethical decisions aligned with Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business priorities.
  • Collaborates across all E&C teams and partners with stakeholders in Business Units / Business Functions to embed ethics and compliance in daily operations.
  • Leads implementation of E&C strategy for the USBU PAMA organization and the CA&I team responsible for patient initiatives, influencing leadership to adhere to E&C principles and adopt best practices.
  • Maintains business expertise and nurtures cross-functional relationships to enable proactive risk identification.
  • Works with senior management and cross-functional partners to implement E&C controls to proactively manage risks.
  • Simplifies and automates tasks through technology and digital tools, including AI; models digital dexterity.
  • Develops programs to empower management and field personnel to integrate E&C principles into day-to-day activities and leadership.
  • Provides E&C guidance on organizational design, brand planning, needs assessments, and Incentive Compensation structures.
  • Anticipates impact of guidance on other areas and proactively communicates with stakeholders to manage this impact.
  • Demonstrates leadership within the E&C organization, mentoring and educating team members on relevant topics.
  • Provides guidance to senior management and field personnel on Code of Conduct, Compliance Policies, SOPs and program requirements.
  • Delivers high-impact presentations to promote awareness of E&C principles and Takedaβ€šΓ„Γ΄s Values.
  • Collaborates with E&C Operations and with Digital E&C on initiatives.
  • Supports material development for USBU RECC meetings, including benchmarking and metrics; presents as required.
  • Reviews policies and procedures to align with Takeda Legal feedback and E&C input.
  • Identifies external trends and drives appropriate action.
  • Performs periodic reviews of USBU E&C Policies and Procedures for compliance with laws and internal policies.
  • Engages externally to address evolving E&C trends (PhRMA, OIG, DOJ) and negotiates solutions aligned with leadership and business needs.
  • Partners with business and third-party vendors to monitor USBU activities (field rides, speaker programs, advisory boards).
  • Researches and responds to compliance hotline/helpline questions as needed.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Ethics & Compliance experience, or 5 years of E&C and patient services or market access experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare industries.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal health care laws/regulations.
  • Extensive experience with laws and guidelines affecting the pharmaceutical industry (OIG, PhRMA, anti-bribery, price reporting, SOPs).
  • Respected advisor to senior management; influences and drives E&C agenda for the BU.
  • Strong ability to transform ideas into resonant communications (presentations, documents, emails).
  • Proven track record of delivering results individually and with others; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and matrix leadership; strong change leadership and persuasion.
  • Excellent customer service and executive presence across management levels.
  • Ability to interpret business and regulatory information and legal advice.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or relevant advanced degree preferred
