Main Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Leadership
- Develop U.S. medical objectives/strategies across the rare hematology portfolio aligned with U.S. commercial goals
- Provide medical input to brand teams (strategy, tactics, claims development)
- Serve as internal expert for rare hematologic conditions/products; support field-based U.S. Medical Affairs
- Develop and implement medical advisory board strategies
- Lead execution of the strategic U.S. investigator-sponsored study program
- Develop U.S. scientific communication and publication strategies
- Partner with R&D to support clinical trials across the portfolio
- Lead medical affairs activities for the near-term launch of rilzabrutinib (rilza) for ITP
- Engage and present to cross-functional leadership/governance forums to advance TA strategy
- Drive preparation for lifecycle management and upcoming product launches
Field Medical & MSL Direction
- Provide strategic direction to disease-specific MSL teams
- Support product/disease-state training for internal colleagues
Payer & Access Support
- Support Managed Markets in payer discussions for rare hematology therapies
- Review Educational Outreach Grants for alignment with strategic goals
Compliance & Ethics
- Ensure ethical and credible promotion (may sit on Promotional and Medical Review boards)
Scientific Excellence
- Maintain medical/scientific knowledge via continuing education and literature review
- Stay updated on emerging scientific/technological/regulatory developments
Travel
- Approximately 20% travel expected
About You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree (PhD or PharmD); will consider MD with relevant experience
- At least 10 years of Medical Affairs experience in strategic/tactical planning and execution
- Experience in rare hematology or related therapeutic area (ITP, wAIHA, SCD, or adjacent rare blood disorders)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strategic thinker/planner
- Superb oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage/resolve conflict
- Organized; effective in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Experience developing, conducting, and publishing peer-reviewed scientific/clinical research
- Additional training in epidemiology, health economics, or health policy/outcomes research
- Commitment to high ethical/legal/regulatory/scientific standards
