Role Summary
Undergraduate Summer Internships at AstraZeneca in Frederick, MD. Paid, full-time 10-week programs running June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026 at the Frederick manufacturing facility. Interns will perform department-specific day-to-day activities, lead a key project, and participate in professional development to gain broad understanding of site functions and the AstraZeneca enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Perform department-specific day-to-day activities as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Lead, execute, and report on a key project to Site Leadership and staff.
- Participate in professional development activities to gain a broad understanding of site functions and the enterprise.
- Contribute to site-wide initiatives across various departments as applicable to the internship role.
Qualifications
- Required: US Work Authorization at time of application; not requiring visa sponsorship (CPT, H1-B, F-1 OPT, TN, etc.).
- Studying to complete a Bachelor’s degree related to engineering, biology, chemistry, computer science, statistics, business, environmental science, communications, or a related field; expected graduation after August 2026.
- Basic understanding of technical areas related to the internship’s functional area.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to report onsite to Frederick, MD five days a week; no relocation assistance.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in roles across Facilities & Site Operations Engineering, Safety, Health, and Environment, Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Science & Technology, Operational Excellence, Project Management, Supply Chain, Data Science, Quality Laboratory, Quality Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Internal Site Communications and People Services.
Skills
- Strong data analysis and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel; ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field as listed in Qualifications; expected graduation after August 2026.
Additional Requirements
- Position start date: June 1, 2026; location: Frederick, MD 21703; 40 hours/week.
- The hourly pay rate is $28/hr.
