Undergrad Co-op – Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics

Role: Undergrad Co-op in Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics at Amgen, focusing on synthetic organic chemistry for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing. Objectives include translating developmental processes into scalable, commercial manufacturing using innovative engineering and manufacturing technologies. Responsibilities: learn process scale-up of small-molecule intermediates, hybrid modalities, and APIs; interact with scientists and engineers on advanced manufacturing platforms. Requirements: enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's program in Chemistry, Material Chemistry, or Chemical Biology with at least a 3.0 GPA; completed one year of study; located in the U.S.; available full-time for 6 months. Preferred: strong interpersonal, analytical, project management skills; self-motivated, adaptable, with interest in organic synthesis. High-Value: hands-on experience with process development for small molecules and biologics; exposure to manufacturing technologies; focus on early to late-stage development; collaborative cross-functional environment.
