Role Summary

The US Brand Lead, DM1 is a senior leader responsible for leading all brand initiatives for the launch and commercialization of del-desiran in the U.S. market. The role requires close collaboration with regulatory, CMC, medical affairs, patient advocacy, other commercial functions and regional general management, and may lead the launch sub-team for del-desiran. Location: Remote.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as US brand lead for DM1 with an additional focus on global and regional product positioning and brand strategy and planning.
  • Recruit and develop marketing talent for Avidity including building and managing a team of marketers.
  • Partner with commercial, franchise and program leadership to:
    • Develop and execute our launch planning process.
    • Lead the planning, content development and facilitation of all the upcoming Launch Readiness Reviews.
    • Ensure strategic alignment and collaboration across all functions.
  • Brand leadership responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
    • Lead DM1 / del-desiran brand team including partnering with Global and Regional commercial, medical, and other functions to identify brand strategy
    • Build a disease and product marketing plan for patients and HCPs.
    • Develop disease education and product message platforms.
    • Develop all brand elements including core positioning, visual and digital branding and creative ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Oversee management of advertising and production agencies.
    • Develop print and digital promotional materials. Shepherd all assets through the appropriate regulatory, medical or promotional review processes.
    • Proactively foresee, identify, and facilitate the resolution of marketing issues.
    • Liaise with insights and analytics team to identify knowledge gaps and formulate plans to address outstanding program needs, providing input into and at times leading market research projects.
    • Conduct Advisory Boards and focus groups with Key Opinion Leaders, Regional Opinion Leaders and Patients/Caregivers.
    • Lead key strategic initiatives focused on the patient journey from symptom presentation to optimal care.
    • Develop KOL and HCP communication channels, including a Speaker’s Bureau.
  • Develop and manage the U.S. marketing budget for del-desiran.
  • Oversee the brand P&L and recommend incremental investment areas across all functions.
  • Partner with franchise leadership to provide a point-of-view on lifecycle investments and strategies.
  • Serve as Commercial representative on DM1 Core Program teams to contribute to lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and sales operations to provide training, tools, and support for effective product promotion.
  • Work with marketing and commercial functions to drive omni-channel, digital and patient marketing efforts.
  • Support message platforms for market access, patient services and other functions.
  • Develop and implement post-launch marketing strategies based on real-world data (to drive adoption, increase retention and enhance patient experience).
  • Pull-through and demonstrate compliance best practices and standards.
  • Engage in additional projects and increasing the scope of work as directed by marketing leadership and global program heads.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in science or relevant field (Required)
  • MBA (Preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years marketing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry working with orphan or ultra-rare diseases (Required)
  • Previous launch experience in the U.S. (Required)
  • Must have previous management experience (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, and proven track record of driving tactical execution within department, internal cross functional teams and external partners. (Required)
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving, strategic analysis and planning capabilities, and involving complex situations. (Required)
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and organizational habits. (Required)
  • Successful experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules. (Required)
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders including KOLs and patient advocacy groups. (Required)
  • Understands and operates within industry compliance standards. (Required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with people individually and in groups; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues; experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships across departments. (Required)
