Associate Director of Treasury (Reporting to Chief Accounting Officer)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cash positioning, forecasting, and short-term investments across global entities; develop rolling cash forecasts for clinical trial funding, milestone payments, regulatory fees, and product launches.
- Optimize working capital and ensure liquidity for R&D investments, M&A, and commercial operations; improve cash management via automation/technology.
- Support capital markets/credit compliance activities as needed.
- Evaluate and execute hedging strategies for interest rate and FX exposure.
- Serve as key contact for treasury banking partners; negotiate banking fees and treasury service agreements.
- Manage/rationalize global bank account structure (US, EU, APAC, emerging markets).
- Identify/mitigate FX, interest rate, counterparty, and repatriation risks; maintain SOX-compliant treasury controls.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory/reporting requirements (incl. OFAC and AML); manage insurance and risk transfer with Legal.
- Partner on licensing/royalty/partnership/M&A treasury aspects; structure milestone-based payments and in-/out-licensing.
- Manage intercompany funding/transfer pricing with Tax; oversee drug supply chain financing (trade finance/vendor payments).
- Partner with Accounting/FP&A/Tax/Legal on month-end close, hedge accounting (ASC 815), and intercompany transactions; prepare treasury dashboards for leadership/Board; lead/mentor treasury team; advise CAO/CFO.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related.
- 10+ years treasury/corporate finance; 3β4+ years in a managerial role.
- Cash management, capital markets, FX risk, financial instruments; global multi-currency treasury ops.
- TMS and ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle); advanced Excel/financial modeling; strong banking relationship management.
Preferred
- CTP or CFA; MBA/advanced finance degree; pharma/biotech/life sciences treasury experience; milestone/royalty/licensing familiarity; ASC 815 and intercompany financing experience; FDA timeline knowledge; M&A due diligence/integration.
