Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of inventory, finished goods, packaging/raw materials, machinery, etc. via rail cars, barges, trucks, and other transportation.
- Obtain shipping rates to ensure the most cost-effective, secure, and timely transport.
- Coordinate international shipping: clearance and delivery for inbound/outbound shipments; work with freight forwarders/brokers to move goods from shipper to consignee.
- Use transportation provider software systems for material movement planning and scheduling.
- Prepare and update monthly reports; provide updates to Supervisor on issues.
- Verify domestic and international shipping quotes for cost efficiency and accuracy.
- Re-route freight as needed to meet demand and minimize costs.
- Support/back up Inventory Control as needed.
- Support development, implementation, and execution of transportation/logistics software.
- Support multiple departments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Communicate fulfillment status and/or issues to Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Maintain carrier documentation/ratings (e.g., cargo liability certificates, hazmat certification, safety ratings, Interstate Commerce Authority).
Qualifications:
- High School or GED (Required)
- 3+ years Logistics/Warehouse/Distribution (Required)
- 3+ years Administrative/Office/Customer Service (Required)
- Microsoft Office, Excel (Required)
- JD Edwards (Preferred)
