Toxicologist

Role: Toxicologist responsible for conducting human health risk assessments and chemical hazard evaluations for 3M products, supporting chemical safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: assess hazards based on scientific literature and toxicological data, evaluate exposure scenarios, author hazard summaries for databases, recommend toxicology study placements with CROs, and stay current with scientific and regulatory developments. Serve as a scientific advisor to internal teams and contribute to chemical management initiatives. Requirements: Master’s degree or higher in toxicology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or related field; minimum of 3 years’ experience in toxicological or safety assessments; proficiency with toxicology data interpretation, exposure assessment, and hazard communication. Preferred: PhD, MD, or DVM with 1+ years of experience; board certification (DABT preferred); expertise in computational toxicology tools like OECD QSAR Toolbox; strong communication skills. High-Value: remote US work with on-site options near Maplewood, MN, or Austin, TX; up to 5% travel; focus on broad product safety for diverse chemical portfolios, potentially involving chemical hazard evaluations, safety endpoints, and regulatory compliance within an industrial setting.
