Role Summary
Regeneron's Department of Drug Safety and Pharmacometrics (DSP) offers a 2-week paid externship in Toxicologic Pathology at Regeneron's corporate site in Tarrytown, NY. The program provides exposure to all phases of drug development, with a team of board-certified Anatomic Pathologists and facilities for microscopic imaging and analysis. This externship includes hands-on experience in toxicologic and rodent pathology, with access to transgenic rodent models.
Responsibilities
- Microscopic pathology experience with a variety of strains of rodents (mice and rats).
- Experience with digital pathology and image analysis in the context of discovery and preclinical safety assessment.
- A preview of the preclinical safety and discovery pathology activities of a Toxicologic Pathologist in a pharmaceutical company.
- Access to transgenic rodents which provides a strong background in animal species that are not traditionally accessible in residency training in academia.
Qualifications
- Required: You are currently a resident in an anatomic pathology training program or are a Veterinary Pathology fellow who has previously completed a pathology residency.
- Required: You wish to further your training in and exposure to toxicologic and rodent pathology.
- Required: You are self-motivated and have a clear and demonstrable interest and ongoing experience in anatomic pathology, particularly histopathology.
Education
- Applicants should be enrolled in a veterinary anatomic pathology residency with some experience in evaluating diagnostic case material or be employed in a fellowship.
