      Role Summary
The Thought Leader Liaison is a senior, field-based member of Karyopharmβs U.S. Commercial organization, responsible for cultivating strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and driving engagement strategies that enhance the impact of our oncology portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Peer-to-Peer Marketing, this role partners closely with Marketing, Sales, and Market Access to support promotional initiatives, speaker development, and strategic execution of HCP engagement programs. During the first 6β9 months, this individual will focus primarily on relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) before expanding to additional indications as they emerge.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of KOL relationships, with a focus on the Western U.S. regions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Commercial Analytics to provide customer insights and guide strategy, messaging, and execution.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with strategic accounts to support and expand promotional initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional field teams to drive high-quality peer-to-peer programs and speaker events.
- Execute field-based physician engagement activities and represent Karyopharm at key medical congresses and conferences.
- Support field-based training related to speaker programs and other promotional initiatives.
- Contribute to the successful execution of account-specific promotional programs and marketing campaigns.
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Required: Background in one or more of the following areas: product marketing, field sales, clinical, nurse practitioner, or thought leader engagement.
- Required: Demonstrated success in developing and managing KOL relationships and executing strategic and tactical engagement plans.
- Required: Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Required: Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Required: Experience managing large geographic territories.
- Required: Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, including attendance at key congresses and customer meetings.
- Required: Ability, with or without accommodation, to work in clinical and healthcare environments.
- Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., MSc, MSN, MBA).
- Preferred: Experience and/or established relationships within hematology; knowledge of multiple myeloma and myelofibrosis strongly preferred.
- Preferred: Previous experience in marketing or thought leader engagement.
- Preferred: Self-driven and proactive, requiring minimal supervision.
- Preferred: Based in the Western U.S.
