Role Summary
Thought Leader Liaison - TAVNEOS - Midwest (Rare Disease). This role focuses on maintaining and building relationships with external Opinion Leaders and large medical centers involved in vasculitis, and the broader Rheumatology and Nephrology provider landscape. The Thought Leader Liaison Sr. Manager will report to the Director Thought Leader Liaison and join the national team of Rare Disease Inflammation Thought Leader Liaisons in the Inflammation Business Unit, coordinating closely with field teams.
Responsibilities
- OL / Strategic Customer Development and Management: Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with regional Opinion Leaders; support engagement of key customers; manage OL Speaker bureau relationships, training, compliance, and product theater management; manage regional speaker bureau and provide speaker recommendations; map relationships with Vasculitis Centers and large facilities; coordinate one-to-one exchanges between brand team and KOLs.
- Congress / Key Event Management: Attend and manage brand activity at regional/national inflammation conferences; manage sponsorship budgets and regional congress plans; coordinate executive meetings with OLs at national conferences; complete contract requirements; coordinate with marketing for timely congress materials.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs: Work cross-functionally to develop external engagement strategies; align with sales on OL engagement plans; provide customer/market insights to marketing; input into advisory boards and strategy; partner with HCP Marketing on advisory boards; provide insights from congresses to marketing.
- Drive Key Initiatives: Lead peer-to-peer marketing initiatives; shape team content development needs including disease state; participate in strategic brand discussions.
Qualifications
- Required: Doctorate degree and 2 years of marketing or sales experience
- Required: Or Master’s degree and 4 years of marketing or sales experience
- Required: Or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of marketing or sales experience
- Required: Or Associate’s degree and 10 years of marketing or sales experience
- Required: Or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of marketing or sales experience
- Preferred: 5–10 years of experience in Rheumatology, Nephrology, Rare Disease in customer-facing roles
- Preferred: Experience developing and executing HCP key customer strategies
- Preferred: Ability to develop and execute KOL mapping and advocacy in relevant spaces
- Preferred: Prior thought leader engagement, regional marketing, sales, medical affairs, or sales leadership experience
- Preferred: Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge in complex disease states; existing relationships with OLs and centers of excellence
- Preferred: Strong relationship-building skills and ability to navigate strategic accounts (IDNs, AMCs, Centers of Excellence)
- Preferred: Strong decision-making, ethical standards, and executive communication
- Preferred: Ability to collaborate in a matrix organization and address problems creatively and systematically
- Preferred: High organizational awareness and critical thinking to identify gaps and recommend next steps
- Preferred: Knowledge of legal/regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions and compliance issues
Education
- Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or High school diploma with corresponding marketing/sales experience as outlined above
Additional Requirements
- Business travel by air or car is regularly required (50%–65%)
- Willingness to work evenings and select weekends
- Located near a hub airport recommended
- Coverage of Midwest Region: Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri
