Role Summary

Gilead Therapeutic Specialist in Albany, NY represents Gilead's products to a defined customer base and drives sales growth within a geographic area through comprehensive account management, in-person engagement with healthcare practices, and strategic partnerships. You will build relationships with healthcare providers, deliver timely disease awareness information and clinical updates, and translate complex clinical concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences while meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Sales Strategy: Build strong relationships and engage healthcare providers across touchpoints to maximize product impact; develop and execute a territory business plan; monitor sales progress and adjust strategies to meet targets.
  • Product & Disease State Expertise: Maintain deep understanding of products, competitive landscape, and disease state complexities; promote appropriate use of products in compliance with guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Partner with local cross-functional colleagues to ensure seamless access, acquisition, administration and operational support; collaborate externally with healthcare organizations and partner companies; build and maintain cross-department relationships.
  • Leadership & Compliance: Model and uphold compliance standards and ethical behavior; ensure adherence to regulatory policies; keep personnel informed of compliance policies and applicable laws and guidance related to product promotion and information dissemination.
  • Customer Engagement & Reporting: Leverage influencing skills to drive sales; establish long-term provider partnerships; perform administrative tasks including reporting activity, expenses, and managing the territory budget; continuous learning and self-motivated performance; experience selling Buy and Bill products.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School and Nine Years' Experience
  • Required: Associates Degree and Seven Years' Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree and Five Years Experience
  • Required: Master's Degree and Three Years Experience
  • Preferred: BA or BS degree
  • Preferred: A minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry sales experience
  • Preferred: Possess superior selling skills focused on highly competitive markets
  • Preferred: Proven and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets
  • Preferred: Successful performance and collaborative leadership with account-focused cross-functional local teams
  • Preferred: Experience in selling injectable physician-administered products
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the managed care landscape and its impact on business
