Therapeutic Specialist – HBV and HDV responsibilities:
- Represent Gilead products and services to a defined customer base; generate and grow sales by consistently achieving/exceeding sales targets in an assigned geographic area.
- Conduct in-person representation and face-to-face meetings with healthcare practitioners.
- Build strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare change updates.
- Synthesize complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences at appropriate literacy/conceptual levels.
- Deliver strong presentations and communications; demonstrate a proven record of interacting with healthcare professionals.
- Understand issues and opportunities unique to each geography.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Gilead and competitor products and disease-state complexities.
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans (customer contacts, unrestricted educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures).
- Partner with internal teams (Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, etc.); may co-promote with outside partners.
- Identify and resolve issues/opportunities; communicate proactively with marketing and sales management.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety/Public Health per required guidelines.
- Perform required administration (call activity/customer reporting, expenses, etc.).
- Adhere to regulatory and company policies and ethics.
- Demonstrate peer leadership and a commitment to Inclusion & Diversity.

Basic qualifications:
- High School + 9 years’ experience OR Associate’s + 7 OR Bachelor’s + 5 OR Master’s + 3.
- Ability to travel regularly within assigned area.
- Ability to meet onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners (e.g., vaccinations, drug/background screenings as required).
- Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred qualifications:
- BA/BS degree.
- 4+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience.
- Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets.
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives (preferably specialty markets).
- Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment.
