Therapeutic Specialist, HBV (Houston, Austin, and San Antonio territory)
Responsibilities:
- Represent Gilead products and services to a defined customer base; generate and grow sales by achieving/exceeding sales targets in the assigned geographic area (including in-person representation and face-to-face meetings with healthcare practitioners).
- Establish strong working relationships with healthcare practices to provide timely disease awareness information, clinical education updates, and healthcare change updates.
- Synthesize complex clinical concepts and communicate them at appropriate literacy/conceptual levels for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills with a proven record of interacting with healthcare professionals.
- Possess comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in therapeutic areas and in-depth knowledge of disease-state complexities.
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines; model peer leadership through consistent compliance and conduct.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan; monitor sales progress; create action plans to achieve sales goals.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, unrestricted educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
- Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal teams (may collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products/services).
- Identify and resolve issues/opportunities and communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health and other internal departments as appropriate.
- Perform administrative tasks (e.g., submit expenses; report call activity and customer information promptly in the call reporting system).
- Adhere to regulatory agency, state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Ensure department personnel are informed of and comply with commercial compliance policy and applicable laws/guidance related to product promotion and information dissemination.
- (People Leader Accountabilities) Create inclusion; develop talent through coaching and feedback; empower teams by aligning goals to organizational objectives and removing barriers.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years with BS/BA OR 3+ years with MS/MA
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree
- 4+ years pharmaceutical sales experience and 2+ years specialty pharmaceutical experience
- Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives (preferably in specialty markets)
- Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment
