Key Responsibilities:
- Support the TA Strategy Head in developing and updating a holistic Novartis TA strategy for sustainable growth in short-, mid-, and long-term.
- Apply understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and Neuroscience therapeutic/disease area knowledge to derive insightful, differentiating competitive advantages.
- Provide key early-phase commercial insights to R&D project teams (US in-market experience is critical).
- Analyze reports and publications to extract key messages, including building product forecasts.
- Develop and deliver TA-specific external strategic insights to identify growth opportunities and emerging competitive challenges; create third-party views around key strategic levers; commission targeted primary research.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, or other advanced university degree) and/or equivalent life science/healthcare experience; MBA or consulting or equivalent experience highly preferred.
- In-depth therapeutic area knowledge (or a track record to acquire required TA expertise rapidly) in Neuroscience.
- Highly agile; capacity to support multiple strategic DAs within a TA and multiple internal/external programs.
- Substantial experience evaluating new product opportunities via M&A, BD&L, and internal research programs.
- At least 5β7 years of industry pharma and/or medical devices experience in R&D and/or commercial functions, including conducting/commissioning/analyzing primary research.
- Experience in strategy development and asset shaping early in lifecycle (any functional perspective).
- Recent (post-2015) local US in-market experience, including working with US customers and US healthcare systems.
