Role: The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for driving business performance and patient impact in rare cholestatic liver diseases by developing deep clinical knowledge, executing strategic account plans, and engaging healthcare professionals as trusted peers. Responsibilities include territory strategy formulation, identifying high-opportunity accounts, building relationships with multidisciplinary care teams, and influencing clinical decision-making to promote appropriate treatment initiation and persistence. The TAM collaborates cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Patient Services to optimize patient journeys and access. They must communicate complex scientific data credibly, challenge clinical inertia constructively, and navigate referral and access pathways effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience, with preference for rare disease, hepatology, gastroenterology, or pediatric specialty backgrounds. Demonstrated success in account-based selling, insight-led or challenger sales approaches, and understanding of access and reimbursement are essential. Strong clinical aptitude, emotional intelligence, and excellent interpersonal skills are critical. The role demands self-motivation, resilience, strategic thinking, and up to 70% travel, including overnight stays. Experience in high-science or complex specialty markets, especially within rare diseases, is highly preferred. The position involves working in a fast-evolving environment, with an emphasis on ethical conduct, compliance, and cross-functional teamwork.
