Role Summary
The Territory Manager, Sales is responsible for the on-label promotion and execution of sales strategies for approved Esperion products to targeted customers within the posted geographic area. As a member of the Company’s field sales force, the Territory Manager, Sales is responsible for all aspects of personal promotion within their assigned geography and for implementing Esperion sales processes in accordance with approved resources while operating in a compliant manner. This role reports into the Regional Sales Manager. Territory: Ann Arbor, MI.
Responsibilities
- Achieve individual territory sales goals as approved by Esperion Commercial Leadership
- Review performance metrics with RSM to ensure territory is achieving maximum sales results
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers in the assigned geography
- Effectively promote and educate Health Care Providers (HCPs) on the use of Esperion products through one-on-one meetings, virtual engagements, company-approved promotional speaker programs, and other approved programs
- Analyze local market trends, develop, execute and monitor performance and results to maximize the appropriate use of Esperion products
- Demonstrate successful use of sales and marketing tools and resources to achieve business objectives
- Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of Esperion product payor coverage to deliver against market access objectives for the assigned territory
- Periodically attend local, regional and national congresses to promote Esperion brands to HCP attendees
- Complete all administrative tasks accurately and timely such as sample inventory, call submission & reporting, expense management, vehicle mileage reporting, and related duties as required
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, complete required compliance training, and demonstrate behaviors aligned with company values
- Follow all Esperion Expense Report guidelines and adhere to allocated territory budget
- Establish and maintain effective communications among Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Territory Managers (TMs); monitor performance to achieve the business potential of the Territory
- Monitor and maintain consistency between Sales and Marketing efforts and ensure high standards for executing business initiatives
- Work closely with sales leadership and Market Access to maximize pull-through from commercial & government payers
- Maintain vendor credentialing requirements for entities such as VendorMate and RepTrax to access customer locations
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred degree in sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Pre-med, STEM) and 1–3 years of pharmaceutical or relevant sales experience; or equivalent education and experience
- Required: Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% including overnight stays for territory business and occasional Regional and National Sales Meetings
- Required: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record that meets employment standards
- Required: Documented track record of consistent high performance in sales, academics, athletics, or other similar endeavors
- Required: Desire to work in a start-up environment or experience operating in an entrepreneurial sales model with sole responsibility of product promotion within a large geographic territory
