Role Summary

Territory Business Manager for Charlotte, NC. The TBM will maximize the sale of MannKind products within the territory and drive sales growth, reporting to the Regional Sales Director. The role emphasizes entrepreneurial spirit and territory ownership across the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Achieving identified territory sales goals while adhering to all MannKind compliance policies and procedures, including FDA label guidance
  • Delivering effective sales presentations to targeted customers
  • Identify and establish customer relationships, maintain knowledge of disease state, products, competition, and territory
  • Maintain budgets and associated timelines for the territory
  • Align territory growth to business unit strategy and use available tactics/resources
  • Solve customer challenges translating clinical data into a patient-specific picture of product attributes
  • Demonstrate total account management, developing relationships and providing perspectives on gaps in current treatment plans
  • Tailor approach to reduce practice pathway friction through strategic use of approved materials, programs, and resources
  • Maintain knowledge of latest clinical data and communicate this information to healthcare professionals in a compliant manner
  • Monitor sales activity and identify territory growth opportunities based on data, stakeholders, and payer landscape
  • Organize plan and call routing through data and customer insights
  • Execute a data-based pre- and post-call plan
  • Communicate effectively with customers, peers, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, the competitive landscape, and treatment guidelines
  • Drive utilization of approved products with HF specialists, cardiology, nephrology, emergency medicine, and other healthcare professionals within accounts
  • Develop relationships with internal Product Marketing/Management to provide voice-of-customer and market observations
  • Translate clinical data into a patient-specific picture of product attributes
  • Maintain professional knowledge through training, publications, and networks
  • Complete tasks on time and with quality, staying organized and compliant
  • Learn, analyze, and convey technically complex information
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, policies, privacy, and data guidelines as prescribed
  • Participate in teleconferences, district meetings, external engagements, and training sessions as required
  • Represent the company at national or local conventions when requested
  • Observe all Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines
  • Use MannKind marketing and sales tools to contribute to the sales process
  • Overnight travel may be required based on territory/geography
  • Other duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Required: Basic Qualifications (required):
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of sales experience OR Associateโ€™s Degree and 6 years of sales experience OR high school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and safe driving record
  • Must live within territory boundaries
  • Preferred: Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience selling in a complex and competitive environment
  • Prior sales and/or pharmaceutical sales experience within Endocrinology AND/OR Nephrology
  • Pre-existing Endocrinology AND/OR Nephrology relationships in existing territory/geography; at least 3 years
  • Strong working knowledge of Type 1 & 2 diabetes and nephrology treatment landscape and guidelines
  • Experience with product launches; Medicare population is a plus
  • Experience working with a HUB and specialty pharmacies
  • Experience in Medicare population with coverage determination facilitation OR extensive prior authorization experience
  • Knowledge of medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to understand healthcare regulations
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle with the ability to deliver a clear and concise selling message
  • Clinical selling skills; leveraging clinical data to drive patient outcomes in a compliant manner
  • Track record of documented sales growth in a highly competitive field
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with high accountability
  • Ability to pursue growth opportunities and manage prospects
  • Excellent planning skills and the ability to map actions to goals
  • Judgment and decision-making abilities to analyze alternatives and decide on courses of action
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) as outlined in Basic Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in place of degree per the Basic Qualifications alternative paths
