Role: Technology Director leading the Ultrasound and Bioinstrumentation team within GE HealthCare's Innovation Center, focusing on advancing diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound technologies and bioinstrumentation. Responsibilities include managing and developing a multidisciplinary team to conceptualize, prototype, and translate innovative hardware and application solutions addressing critical clinical needs; driving the technology roadmap aligned with clinical and business strategies; securing external government funding; fostering external partnerships with academia, industry, and clinical institutions; and ensuring adherence to quality, regulatory, and EHS standards. The role emphasizes strategic research leadership, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration across clinical and product teams. Requirements: Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering or related field with at least 10 years of research experience in medical devices; proven track record of research output, innovation, and translating research into high-impact, regulated environments; experience leading technical teams and securing external funding (e.g., NIH, DARPA, ARPA-H); legal authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to work in Niskayuna, NY. Preferred: leadership in ultrasound/bioinstrumentation research, strategic thinking, strong external network, understanding of clinical workflows, and excellent communication skills. The position offers a competitive salary ($152K-$228K), benefits, and relocation assistance, with a focus on disruptive innovation in ultrasound and bioinstrumentation for clinical impact.
