Responsibilities
Sample Analysis and Reporting
- Verify (SPV) analytical data of other analysts within the lab as requested.
- Accurately and safely perform analytical test methods or related support activities per procedures/protocols; review and interpret data for conformance and identify aberrant data/results.
- Perform data entry and review own work for accuracy in accordance with laboratory procedures/standards and GMP requirements.
- May perform holistic review of data for release of data from the laboratory.
Problem Solving
- Recognize deviations from test methods/procedures and initiate analytical investigations; participate in Root Cause Investigations.
- Participate in investigations for deviations.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and methods as required.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Assist in improvement of quality systems by creating/revising worksheets and other lab documentation systems.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- Review SOPs for being executable as written.
- Share technical information and best practices.
Lab Operations
- Assist with drafting protocols for non-routine testing/validation.
- Assist with developing equipment qualification protocols.
- Perform routine equipment calibrations or maintenance.
- Comply with and assist with implementing safety standards.
- Execute notifications to management when required.
- Initiate lab deviations.
- Train and mentor others; assist with developing training materials.
Basic Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a science field related to the lab or 1+ years of relevant experience in a GMP analytical lab.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly will not provide sponsorship/visa support.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Proficiency with LIMS/Empower/Excel.
- Ability to work in a lab environment and use required PPE.
- Strong math and documentation skills.
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information (Role)
- Sunday–Thursday 8-hour evening to night shift.
- Tasks may require repetitive motion/standing; lift at least 5 liters.
- Overtime/weekend work as necessary.
