Role Summary

Technical Services Coordinator responsible for maintaining biopharmaceutical GMP equipment and laboratory assets supporting Clinical Supply operations within a manufacturing pilot plant and development laboratories. Accountable for managing service providers and third-party contractors, coordinating maintenance to support manufacturing and scientific schedules. This is a full-time onsite role at the King of Prussia site.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance and Compliance:
    • Maintain biopharmaceutical process equipment including benchtop, analytical, and pilot-scale systems (e.g., mammalian cell culture single-use bag reactors, stainless steel microbial fermentors, centrifuges, purification/filtration systems, CIP, washers, autoclaves).
    • Coordinate with internal technicians, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely maintenance, cGMP compliance, and safe operation.
  • Scheduling and Coordination:
    • Plan maintenance activities around manufacturing and scientific schedules with stakeholders.
    • Develop clear scopes of work for vendors/contractors to ensure efficient execution.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Manage and generate Safe Work Permits, Lock-out-Tag-out, Hazardous Energy Control Procedures, and Job Hazard Analysis for internal teams and contractors.
  • Procurement and Documentation:
    • Generate purchasing requisitions for parts, maintenance services, and service contracts.
    • Follow up on receipt of parts/services and support invoicing processes.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
    • Support equipment troubleshooting and participate in root-cause analysis using Six Sigma tools; provide recommendations to improve preventive maintenance lists.
  • Maintenance Excellence Deliverables:
    • Drive Maintenance Excellence by ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance; collaborate with internal teams and vendors to identify and implement improvements.
  • AI Integration in Maintenance:
    • Explore AI tools to enhance predictive maintenance, asset reliability, and maintenance operations; collaborate to evaluate and implement AI-driven solutions.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management:
    • Maintain open communication with Facility Engineers, Maintenance/CMMS Engineers, Process Engineers, Safety Engineers, Operators/Supervisors, Validation, QA, Procurement, auditors, and contractors.
  • On-Call Support:
    • Provide occasional off-hours on-call support for troubleshooting process equipment and utilities alarms.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in a GMP environment.
    • Experience with equipment and systems including preventive and corrective maintenance.
    • Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., EAM, SAP) and Six Sigma root-cause analysis tools.
    • Experience with safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or related technical field; Vocational Technical School or Military training also considered.
    • Experience implementing or exploring AI-driven solutions.
    • Experience working across diverse teams and managing multiple priorities.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
