Your Role:
The Technical Consultant will work with customers to position Elanco as the partner of choice by delivering exceptional technical expertise, market leading product solutions, scientifically sound research studies, and value beyond product including consulting, analytics, diagnostics, and market access support.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers as an active member of account teams; identify and position opportunities for customers to use Elanco products
- Participate in account planning and incorporate Elanco’s value strategy; support training event/material development
- Assist with new product launch planning and preparation; implement value strategy at the customer level
- Train and coach Elanco personnel on disease, products, and industry practices
- Build relationships with and influence external customers, consultants, and academics; identify avenues to deliver value beyond product
- Maintain good standing with and influence key industry organizations
- Conduct research using approved Elanco products; align research with business needs and brand lifecycle planning
- Ensure publication of research in scientific meetings and peer-reviewed journals; assist with R&D requests and product line extensions
- Communicate effectively across technical and account teams; identify customer/Elanco opportunities and threats
- Influence long-range strategy and product positioning; identify external talent for technical roles
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Dairy Nutrition and Physiology
- 3–5 years of dairy industry experience
- Understanding of dairy operations; credibility to influence dairy consultants
- Expertise in technical consultancy focused on customer concerns/needs
- Demonstrated success as a dairy nutritional consultant to US dairy farms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the US dairy industry
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Experience/knowledge in dairy environmental sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Additional Information:
- Travel requirements: 50%
- Location: Field Based, Upper Midwest US (preferably WI)
