What You Will Achieve
- The St. Louis Clinical Manufacturing Facility technician will support scale up and manufacturing of mammalian and microbial fermentation/purification processes for clinical supplies in Pfizer’s Biotherapeutics portfolio.
How You Will Achieve It
- Set up, execute, and evaluate GMP manufacturing unit operations including seed train, bioreactors/fermenters, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, UF/DF, conjugation, and lyophilization.
- Execute CIP, SIP, aseptic sampling, parts washing, documentation, work order generation, and data entry/evaluation.
- Interact with group engineers and colleagues from development lines as needed.
- Coordinate with 1st shift technicians to communicate challenges and status of unit operations.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- HS diploma, Associates Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (bioprocess or chemical process industry).
- Teamwork in a matrix development team; ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; maintains a safe work environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel).
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience in a Biological Pilot Plant or Commercial Manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of fermentation and downstream processing techniques.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Lift 40 lbs; stand for long periods.
Work Schedule/Location
- 2nd shift differential; on-premise.
Compensation/Benefits
- Salary: $23.58–$39.31 per hour; eligibility for overtime/weekend/holiday and other pay premiums. Benefits include 401(k) with Pfizer matching, paid vacation/holiday/personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and medical/dental/vision.
