Position Summary:
The Team Leader is responsible for the safe execution of the Charles City production schedule in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and applicable regulatory requirements. Conducts activities and decisions in accordance with company policies/SOPs, Zoetis Values, global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), and environmental guidelines as appropriate. Updates and maintains department procedures (Manufacturing Directions and SOPs) using Microsoft Word.

Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and own department performance, including leadership/participation in floor and lab operations, clean room audits, department meetings, and shift changes.
- Flex daily start time for leadership coverage across a 2-shift operation; available for on-call support evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ensure effective utilization of the GMP process for direct reports (annual objectives, development plans, 1:1s, quarterly/year-end reviews) and continuously improve team capabilities.
- Perform safety related M1 investigations (including initial summary to site leadership) and manufacturing related M1 investigations as needed.
- Ensure direct reports complete all training requirements; perform Human Performance Evaluation as applicable.
- Develop direct reports using performance management tools, improvement initiatives, feedback, and open communication.
- Manage employee relations in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in and/or lead special projects as directed.
- Respond to process/equipment events with communication to process specialist, quality, regulatory, EHS, finance, maintenance, and Operational Excellence as needed.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and execution of company manufacturing specifications and SOPs.
- Complete Manufacturing Batch Record Review and other departmental documentation.

Education and Experience / Qualifications:
- BA/BS with 2–4 years leadership experience OR MBA/MS with 0–2 years leadership experience OR at least 8 years relevant leadership experience (preferably biologics manufacturing).
- Preferred: manufacturing/analytical experience in microbiology, biology, engineering, or related science.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, motivate teams; interact with all colleague levels; achieve results.
- Extensive Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP Enterprise Resource System preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leading skills; commitment to product quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and investigate deviations/excursions.
- Thorough knowledge of 9CFR and EU regulations, GMPs, and GLPs.
- Trackwise preferred; DMAIC/Minitab preferred.
- Proficient English and technical writing skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Walk/sit/stand for long periods; wear a respirator.
- Reach above shoulder level; bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull; frequently handle/grip.
- Work scheduled 40 hours with overtime as needed; comfortable varying temperatures.
- Frequent lifting/carrying 5–50 lbs; repetitive wrist/hand/finger motion.
