The Position
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, & lifecycle management of selected infrastructure systems & platforms.
Reports to Manager, IT Systems.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and design supported systems to ensure lifecycle management.
- Ensure installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation meet local/regulatory requirements.
- Monitor systems; respond to IT incidents and support/security incidents.
- Deploy security patches per procedures; perform risk assessments for performance/capacity.
- Plan/test/execute backup and disaster recovery; annually test the Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Provide mentoring/technical guidance; contribute to IT Infrastructure processes/procedures.
- Support on-site and external project work; manage small projects.
- Collaborate with system managers/senior engineers/IT Security for new systems/updates.
- Serve as SME during corporate/external audits; support and practice IT Security; ensure data confidentiality.
- Follow safety/environmental requirements; provide ad-hoc/after-hours production support.
Qualifications/Skills (required)
- Bachelorβs in related field + 5 years experience OR 10 years direct experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, networking, IT security.
- Experience with 300+ servers, 2000+ workstations; monitoring tools, Active Directory/DNS/DHCP, virtualization, backup/DR, patch management, firewalls, security controls.
- Certification in IT system administration/engineering (e.g., MCSA/MCSE).
- Troubleshoot/document incidents; ITIL framework knowledge.
- Operate under FDA computer-based information/automation requirements (incl. 21 CFR Part 11); maintain documentation/testing.
