Role: Surgical Technician II supporting animal care, surgical procedures, and model development in a biomedical research setting. Responsibilities: animal feeding, cleaning, surgery prep and support (including catheterization, soft tissue removal), anesthesia, post-op care, maintaining records, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with IACUC and quality standards. Contributes to developing and implementing new surgical techniques and models, and trains new staff. Requirements: minimum 2-year degree in animal science or relevant experience (laboratory, veterinary, surgical); strong animal welfare ethic; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk on concrete for periods; basic math and communication skills; team-oriented with leadership ability. Preferred: experience with rodent surgery, biosecurity adherence, and work in regulated research environments.
