Warehouse Supervisor
Responsibilities (Key Objectives/Deliverables)
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise all warehouse operations; directly supervise functional-level warehouse employees.
- Maintain a Safety and Quality driven work environment; support a “Stop Work” philosophy for safety/quality concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement strategies (corrective/preventive actions, 6 Sigma, lean).
- Foster patient-driven mindset and an inclusive culture.
- Ensure employees meet requirements and complete all task-related training before performing assigned work.
- Supervise staff with direction/coaching; manage timecards/attendance per procedures.
- Manage vacation requests and perform backup planning.
- Escalate personnel/operational issues to Supply Chain/Warehouse leadership; support disciplinary action management.
- Manage performance of direct reports (coaching/development, low performance follow-up); provide feedback on evaluations and support merit increase discussions.
- Support recruitment (resume review, interviewing); edit/approve/review job descriptions.
- Support investigations of incidents/accidents.
- Act as a first-level employee advocate; listen and channel employee suggestions.
Training
- Review/assign Computer Based Training; ensure required training currency.
- Train shift operators per documented plan; coordinate training time and schedules with Learning & Development.
- Obtain PIT “train the trainer” certification and train/certify others as needed.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
Compliance / Deviation Resolution / Routine Operations
- Promote compliance with Quality, HSE, and Global policies; monitor practices vs. procedures and escalate as needed.
- Ensure GDP practices; participate in audits and complete audit actions accurately/timely.
- Coordinate cleaning tasks; ensure EHS inspections are completed.
- Identify/communicate deviation events; report quality/process/safety events promptly; escalate and generate events in QMS/Trackwise.
- Take immediate corrective action; participate in investigations and root cause analysis.
- Participate in emergency response/readiness (where trained).
- Monitor ASRS/AGV automation; attend/lead meetings.
- Track/process data daily; coordinate maintenance (routine/emergency); monitor process documentation.
- Ensure inventory integrity and proper material temperature/conditions; develop process strategies aligned to production plan.
- Manage department hazardous waste as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 2 years supply chain/warehouse experience, or HSD/Associate degree + 5 years supply chain/warehouse experience.
- Experience supervising/managing hourly associates.
- Experience in pharma/regulated industry warehousing.
- ERP experience in GMP receiving/shipping/internal controls for semi-finished/finished goods (SAP and EWM required).
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Physical ability for industrial work; operate material handling equipment (MHE) and tools (bolt cutters, band cutters, strapping tools).
- Hand-eye coordination; ability to bend/climb/reach/stairs; visual acuity (near/medium).
- Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments.
- Alertness and ability to coordinate/detect/diagnose/evaluate/instruct/interpret/read/plan/organize/articulate; strong judgment and decision-making with minimal supervision.
- English fluency (verbal/written) with at least 2 years.
