Role Summary
The Supervisor, Warehouse is responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel, managing workflow, and ensuring the effective utilization of equipment, materials, and labor resources in the warehouse areas. This role requires leadership in safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a distribution environment located in Bothell, WA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee product flow, address technical issues, and manage employee relations within the warehouse.
- Meet shipping deadlines, domestic and international.
- Recommend and implement measures to enhance accuracy and quality in accordance with company guidelines.
- Interpret and enforce safety regulations and maintain accuracy of the DC metrics.
- Create staffing and training plans based on projected workflows; conduct periodic employee assessments.
- Oversee warehouse staff handling medical device products and raw materials; ensure compliance with quality standards and SOPs.
- Ensure efficient use of equipment, materials, and human resources; collaborate with QA and Engineering to resolve issues.
- Oversee area safety and housekeeping; assist with hiring and training; address employee issues and track attendance/performance.
- Lead continuous improvement projects; serve as SME on ERP and shipping systems used in the warehouse.
- Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Service Depot, and R&D Engineering.
- Operate with minimal supervision and take direction from Distribution Manager.
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience; 3–5 years of warehouse experience (preferably in a medical device environment).
- Preferred: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science; supervisory training; Lean and Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) training.
Skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn ERP systems and MS Project, Visio, and other software.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills with analytical capabilities; excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written English communication; ability to read and follow procedures and metrics.
Education
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Physical: Light material handling tasks; lifting up to 35 pounds for short durations; may include keyboard data entry.
- Work Environment: Warehouse setting with low to moderate noise levels.
