Description Overview
The Production Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of a production team, working on multiple production lines and across shifts in a manufacturing/packaging environment to ensure efficient manufacturing/packaging of products.
Scope of the Role
- Supervises manufacturing and/or packaging employees across multiple production lines and shifts; assigns tasks, adjusts workloads, schedules and monitors training, monitors production quality, troubleshoots and resolves problems.
- Ensures operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures; reviews Standard Operating Procedure changes and monitors training/enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed.
- Shares specialized experience/expertise with management in development and implementation of ongoing processes or special projects.
- May test/evaluate process changes and recommend implementation or rejection; supervise maintenance/installation projects; work with engineering to select/evaluate new equipment (capital and ancillary).
- May participate in capacity or budget planning; gathers/evaluates information and makes/presents recommendations.
- Manages and records performance metrics; prepares statistical/management reports and completes necessary documentation.
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years in the field with supervisory experience.
- Four-year degree preferred; multiple years in a supervisory position will be considered.
