Supervisor of Patient Access Services (Patient Assistance Program, Pharmacy Solutions)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee Patient Access Specialists: review application documents, conduct insurance investigations, assess patient financial information, and provide approval/denial status to patients and HCPs.
- Monitor and assign work; adjust workload and staffing to meet timely case completion, KPIs, and quality goals.
- Handle administrative duties (scheduling, attendance monitoring/counseling, vacation/overtime allocation); participate in hiring; address issues for direct reports.
- Coach and manage to maintain a motivated, interactive team.
- Meet/exceed performance metrics; provide periodic progress reports on goals and metrics.
- Provide activity metrics/status updates and program intelligence to management for program success and compliance.
- Investigate and resolve escalated patient cases; communicate with management as appropriate.
- Maintain cross-functional relationships to ensure adherence to business rules/policies.
- Ensure patient cases are documented in the CRM per business rules/policies.
- Assist with special projects for process optimization when requested.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate or Bachelorβs in health sciences or business (preferred).
- 3β5+ yearsβ experience in healthcare provider, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or retail/mail order pharmacy; strong core insurance knowledge (medical + pharmacy benefits).
- Leadership experience in call center, integrated care provider, managed care, or healthcare insurance (desired).
- Strong knowledge of reimbursement channels (commercial pharmacy, major medical, governmental programs).
- Knowledge of online verification systems (required).
- Excellent customer service; strong organizational/time management/problem-solving; strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Clear written and oral communication; strong analytical skills (preferred).
