Responsibilities include directing daily animal husbandry activities, managing personnel scheduling and training, ensuring adherence to SOPs, and maintaining inventory and supplies. Supports animal welfare through monitoring health, environmental conditions, and proper handling, including procedures like euthanasia and study acclimation. Qualifications: Associate degree in animal or life sciences, 4+ years animal care experience including veterinary or lab settings, with prior supervisory experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree and AALAS certification. High-Value: laboratory animal care, regulatory compliance (USDA, AAALAC, OLAW), GLP standards, and support for research studies involving various species. Work setup: onsite daily, with travel to different site locations; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, and perform manual tasks. Physical and safety requirements are standard for animal care roles. Salary range: $61,000–$73,000/year, commensurate with experience, including benefits like health/dental, disability, paid time off, and 401K.
