Role Summary

The Supervisor, Facilities Planning will manage the Facilities Planners and direct the day-to-day activities of the facilities planning team while optimizing the use of building and facility space through the management of space allocation, design, construction, and facility improvements, ensuring compliance with regulations and building codes. The role will act as primary contact for facilities planners and schedulers and allocate and manage work orders for ImmunityBio sites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure all locations are maintained up to GMP standards and make recommendations to improve the appearance and safety of the sites.
  • Lead, coach, train and evaluate the performance of team members while directing the processing and tracking of facilities planning and scheduling activities.
  • Interface with Senior Leadership and other stakeholders to plan and coordinate facilities resources for special projects and provide progress reporting documents and briefing as required.
  • Liaise with and oversee contractors’ performance and take action to ensure compliance with all company standards and project requirements, including sanitation, safety, quality, scheduling, productivity and budget. Ensure compliance with all required permits.
  • Analyze facility usage, conducting space utilization studies, and developing plans for optimal space allocation.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors on facility projects.
  • Develop strategic plans for facility improvements and upgrades. Drive improvements to the company’s CMMS.
  • Participate in budgeting, cost estimation, and procurement processes.
  • Plan and coordinate facilities resources to maintain optimal performance of all facilities related processes and systems.
  • Make timely and sound decisions related to planning and scheduling inclusive of determining appropriate personnel in the decision-making process.
  • Manage procurement of parts, services and service agreements while identifying and providing cost-saving projects in these areas.
  • Manage building operating permits and licenses for all sites as required by all governing agencies.
  • Creates, maintains and adheres to Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), work plans, maintenance data templates, and drawing redlines as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate space planning records and drawings on building improvements and work with vendor on updating building drawings with any modifications.
  • Leads and attends required training and meetings. Maintains training records for the team.
  • Manage facilities metrics associated with work orders.
  • Maintain documents in VEEVA.
  • Performs and delegates other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in facilities planning, operations or maintenance required; or
  • High school diploma with 10+ years of experience in facilities planning, operations, or maintenance required
  • GMP facility experience required
  • 5+ years working experience of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) required
  • 3+ years’ experience working in an FDA regulated environment
  • Supervisory and/or budget management experience preferred
  • LEED certification or other relevant industry certifications preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and facility management software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA compliance, cleanrooms, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to multitask and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, team environment, and deal with ambiguity effectively
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments regarding safety, work methods and tools

Additional Requirements

  • This position works on-site in El Segundo, CA.
  • Local Travel required between ImmunityBio sites.
  • Exposure to onsite in-lab environment.
  • Must be able to don and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Available to work off hours (weekends, holidays, after hours) to support company objectives.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Must be able to lift frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
