      Role Summary
 Summer Intern - AI-Based Protein Design on the Research Team to help expand whatβΓΓ΄s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Sr. Scientist, Deep Learning. This is a full-time paid internship designed to provide hands-on experience, mentoring, and opportunities for rotational assignments within the function.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Build AI architectures to generate and optimize protein candidates guided by multiple protein properties
 
 - Develop and implement AI algorithms to predict protein properties, learning from general data as well as protein target-specific data
 
 - Curate new datasets for training or fine-tuning AI models
 
 - Collaborate with computational and experimental colleagues to advance biotherapeutics discovery
 
 - Effectively present your findings to team members with various backgrounds
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Required: Proficiency in Python and general-purpose ML and DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch); understanding of general AI architectures (e.g., generative models)
 
 - Required: Basic knowledge of chemistry/biology and protein science
 
 - Required: Current student pursuing PhD or MS in computational biology, computational chemistry, computer science, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
 
 - Required: Desire to work at the interface of computational and biological sciences
 
 - Required: Good problem-solving, teamwork and communication abilities
 
 - Preferred: Experience with large-scale data cleaning
 
 - Preferred: Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and/or cloud computing platforms
