Role Summary

The Knowledge and Data Integration internship at Bristol Myers Squibb focuses on improving the organization, alignment, and integration of biomedical and pharmaceutical data to accelerate early research and discovery. As data volume and complexity grow, robust taxonomies and effective data harmonization are critical for data ingestion, analysis, and decision-making. The team is exploring AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate and enhance these processes. This internship runs Juneโ€“August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Taxonomy/Ontology Definition & Enhancement.
  • Data Alignment & Integration.
  • AI/LLM Application.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with biomedical/pharmaceutical data and ontologies.
  • Experience with data wrangling, integration, and analysis (Python, R, SQL, etc.).
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts, especially LLMs and NLP techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Additional Requirements

  • On-site presence may be required; occupancy type is determined by the role (site-essential, site-by-design, field-based, or remote-by-design). Hybrid models with at least 50% onsite may be available for some roles.
  • Travel to visit customers, patients, or partners may be required for field-based roles.
  • This is a temporary, time-bound internship for the Juneโ€“August 2026 period.
