Summer 2026 - AI Application for Cancer Bioinformatics Internship

Role Summary

A 10-week summer internship (June–August 2026) for a motivated graduate or undergraduate student to build an AI agent and/or workflow to automate routine and novel bioinformatics analyses for oncology drug discovery and development. The RWD AI Agent will interact with human scientists via natural language, decide which tools and datasets to use, execute analyses, and return results in natural language with accompanying data visualizations. Additional features such as revision of analyses based on human feedback and learning new analyses can be explored but are not required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an API interface for searching and querying RWD data
• Design and implement the RWD AI agent/workflow for RWD analyses
• Benchmark performance of the RWD AI agent
• Write reports, present results to cross-functional R&D groups

Qualifications

• Currently enrolling in a graduate/undergraduate program in an accredited US university
• Your program supports industry internship (check with your program before applying)
• Knowledgeable in AI software design/development, databases and web-based applications
• Familiar with NLP, LLM models, prompt engineering, text extraction/summarization and code automation
• Proficient in Python/R and related AI/ML libraries
• Experienced with agentic AI platforms/workflows
• Familiar with bioinformatics, cancer omics data, and data visualization
• Familiar with GPU and high-performance computing is a plus
• All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Please note that immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
